Mommy's Corner

I know from personal experience, that having a child with medical issues is extremely demanding and hectic.  I would like to share some of my methods for trying to keep it together.  All the way from cleaning tips that I have learned, to deals, and stores with good sales.  I even have some fashion tips of my own to share.  Just because we are busy and exhausted, doesn't mean we have to look like it ladies!

Now,  I do most of my shopping online.  Personally, I love it, no crowds, and you can shop whenever you want.  Since I'm a night owl, I do a lot of shopping late at night.  Here are a few of my favorite places to shop:

Old Navy:   They have great basics, that you can dress up or down, and great sales.   Their clothes really last a long time, through many washes an still look good.  There are always coupon codes to enter to get extra discounts too.

Children's Place:   Great sales and clearance online

Target:  I just love Target for so many reasons.  They have great clearance, and good quality clothing.

Walmart.com:  It's Walmart, need I say more!

Retailmenot.com and Ebates.com are 2 amazing sites that give you access to discounts at a variety of stores, and I swear by them.  Retailmenot.com is coupon codes, and coupons; while Ebates.com lets you earn actual cashback on purchases from online shopping at many stores.  How awesome is that?, and it's free to sign up.

Ibotta:   This is a new one for me.  My wonderful niece just turned me on to this app that I have been using like crazy to earn cash back on purchases from just about anywhere.  Its better than coupons.  You even earn money for completing bonuses.  I love it.  Please check it out if you haven't already, and use my sign up code link https://ibotta.com/r/ekupimv

When I shop for myself, or LJ, I am going to post what I bought, and what coupon codes, and discounts I used.  I will also be reviewing all of the items I bought.  I have a hard time shopping for myself, because I am so tall, and like my clothes to fit a certain way.  For tall girls, the struggle is real.  I know I can never get good insight of what will look good on me based on the reviews of others because I am not average size, so I want to show you guys some of my favs, and not so favs.  Stay tuned!!!
I haven't had a chance to post any of my recent purchases so I have to get on top of that 'cuz I am a little bit of a shopaholic, and I'm definitely a bargain shopper, so I can let you Moms in on some of my little tips.  At Christmas time it was really hectic since LJ was in the hospital for some time right up until just before Christmas Eve, but I still managed to get a good couple of deals in thanks to my online shopping skills, and I got money back on my purchases thanks to Ebates.com.  This is my favorite spot to get cash back on almost all of my online purchases.  They even have coupons that are sometimes not advertised.  If you have never used Ebates.com, please use my code:https://www.ebates.com/r/NOOKA2 to sign up :) .

I did most of my clothes shopping at  Old Navy.com.  I love me some Old Navy.  For LJ, and for myself, they have good quality clothes at good prices.  Let me tell you, I am not by any means rich, nor do I have money to just be blowin', and I will not try to pretend like I do.  I have bills, and I have to make sure my son and myself look as good as we can without breaking the bank.  Now, I'm not gonna lie, every now and then, I can splurge on different things for us both, but when it comes to the basics, I find that I can get some very nice looking pieces from Old Navy.  For LJ I get sweaters, sweatshirts, t- shirts, almost anything.  For me, I Love Old Navy because the have talls, and that is something that alot of other stores do not have.  So if there are any other Moms like me that are above average height, Old Navy.com has talls for women, and they are great!  Nice long sleeves for tops, pants, nice lengths.  I mostly buy tops from there because I am also shapely so I haven't bought pants in a while.  The sizes honestly didn't match up with my hips and waist.  I buy my pants from a website called Alloy.com, I find their bottoms for my shape better.  I just ordered a jacket from Old Navy for myself.  I'll post a picture when it gets here to show you guys how it fits.  I got it on sale at a steal, 40% off, lol.  Told you I'm a bargain shopper.  All you gotta do is just get on the email list of your favorite stores to find out about the sales as soon as they come out to find out about the best deals.

One of my fav boyfriend flannels from Old Navy with some Leggings and Steve Madden combat boots, nice and easy cute!
I take shopping pretty seriously, but sometimes, when you have what seems like the weight of the world on your shoulders, you don't want to look like it.  When you look good, you feel good too.   That's a fact!

E: "... the power of a good outfit on a bad day." :D If I wake up feeling emotionally fragile but ok to go to work, I put on a killer outfit and it makes things seem a little better ♡:

I had to post this because I just got too excited when I got all this stuff for my baby from my favorite store.....Old Navy.  I have already gone on and on about how much I love me some Old Navy, but I truly do love this store, and Old Navy.com is even better.  They have a better selection of sizes and I feel you can just get a better deal in general.  I have been a loyal customer for years and I am not going ANYWHERE!!!!.  I am an extreme bargain hunter and i love to look good on a budget :), trust me, there is no shame in my game at all.  Now, anybody who has children knows that they can be one size this week, and next week, they can grow right out of their clothes and trust me, my son is no different.  My baby needed a wardrobe revamp like asap and it caught me completely off guard.  Thank goodness Old Navy was having a bangin' sale with 50% of kids styles plus a 30% off  code.  I got LJ 17 things all together for less than $100.

He got 2 entire sweatsuits (hoodie and sweatpants), plus another pair of  very stylish sweatpants and 12 shirts, a few being thermal type of shirts and some plain long sleeve shirts for the fall.   I love everything and I am so happy with my purchase.  I got all of this great quality clothing (another reason I love Old Navy) for super cheap and I earned $50 in Super Cash to use this coming week.  Win Win!!!  Now I can shop for myself.... :) The best part about it is that this is not even one of their best sales, it was just a good one when I really needed it, but I get some great deals all the time.  I always have a delivery coming to my house from Old Navy.com   and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get nice clothes at god prices.  My favorite part about shopping online is that they have tall sizes, which you can't get in store.  You really can't get that at most stores so that is where they first snagged me, lol, but the quality has always been phenomenal.

A huge deal for me when it comes to LJ though, is that they have so many options as far as bottoms.  They have a lot of cute, stylish and up to date sweatpants.  I really like all the different kinds of pants they have to choose from.  It's not just the plain old blue , black and greys that you see everywhere.  They have different colors, designs, styles, all that.  I even wrote to them a long time ago about their jeans and how I was not able to find jeans that my baby could wear comfortably with him being in a wheelchair.  I needed some jeans with a waistband similar to sweatpants, but that still looked like jeans.  I  got a response and I could not believe it when I went online and actually saw jeans like that just a couple months later.  It literally brought tears to my eyes.  Jeans with elastic waists so my little man can still be in fashion, but be comfy in his wheelchair without the waistband digging in his stomach.  Now, I am not sure if it was something they already had in the works, but it really made me feel like a valued customer and I appreciate that.  They forever have a customer in me.
